Internet Connection

I am wondering if it is only me who is having trouble with connection to the Internet? Although I had no problems as a result of the storms that knocked out a number of people, I have recently had increasing breaks in getting connected on both laptop and tablet. My son changed my modem yesterday in the hope of solving the annoyance but the problem persists. Is it just me (54 High Street) or are others

effected ? Isla Tuck

We haven't noticed any particular issues and we are just over the road from you. It may be down to who you buy your web access from, ours is BT Internet and generally speaking they are ok.

Actually we've been having problems with internet loss over the last two or three weeks. And that is via BT internet. Often this happens at weekends and BT have said it is lack of capacity when too many other users taking high amounts of bandwidth. It would be interesting to know if it's a widespread problem.

I have an unusable connection at the moment at 256kbps (that is almost as slow as the old dial-up!). It is hopeless. I also have a business broadband account but it doesn't help because the problem is line related on our side of the B3110. Apparently the line engineers are perfectly well aware that the wiring is faulty but cannot leave a job "open", so once they have tested an ok line (which will happen eventually) they close the case and you have to re-open another fault. I have had the engineers out 3 times so far, and they wish us well with an ironic "see you again soon". I have another call out pending. I just don't know what to do about it.
