Works Programme for the A36 and the B3110    28 December, 2013

Dear Councillors, Parish Councils

I have been asked to advise you of the following programme of works for Midford and Brassknocker Hill.

Midford – footway construction accommodation works from 10/02/14 to 14/02/14 under temp. traffic signals during off peak hours only (09.15am – 03.30pm)

Brassknocker Hill - carriageway resurfacing: 17/02/14 to 21/02/14 (road closure 07.00am to 07.00pm). If possible the roundabout at the junction with North Road will be resurfaced under temporary traffic lights only – not a complete road closure.

Midford – footway construction: 22/02/14 to 01/03/14 (road closure 24/7)

Local businesses and residents adjacent to and close by the sites will receive advance information letters as usual. Advance driver information signs will be in place approximately 2 weeks ahead of time at the end of each site. “Like for like” category of road  diversion routes will be signed however past experience has shown that many drivers will find their own way around the site on local roads so increased traffic in the area should be expected. Road works signs will be used to try to alleviate the majority of “rat runs” and please remember that the first day of a road closure is always the worst!

Both schemes have been arranged so that they do not clash and are completed before the HA repair works on the A36 commencing on 03/03/14.

Adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances may cause delays or postponement. Dates on road signs will be altered if necessary.

Kind regards and Seasons Greetings to all
